Lacrosse Nova Scotia, in partnership with the Mi’kmaq Nova Scotia Canada Tripartite Forum Sports and Recreation committee, initiated Lacrosse programming in all Mi’kmaq communities in 2012 -2013. The programming was met with great success.   Try Lacrosse introduced the game to participants, created awareness and taught basic lacrosse skills.  Participants continued learning by participating in Regional Sessions held in Eskasoni, Waycobah, Pictou Landing, Millbrook, and Annapolis Valley. The Regional Sessions taught game and leadership skills, and helped develop leaders, confidence and the benefits of being active.

The overall objective for 2019-2020 is to further build on the previous work done in the communities.  Lacrosse Nova Scotia will be providing development clinics throughout the province this fall and winter in order to help identify potential players for the NS U19 Male and Female Teams and the NS U16 Male Team.  This will give us an opportunity to re-introduce lacrosse to the communities acrosse NS.
