Help Support The Proposal For A Lacrosse Emoji

We've all used emojis, those small images and smiley faces, to express an idea or emotion in our text messages and on social media, however those in the lacrosse community have long noticed that one particular emoji has been missing: a lacrosse emoji.
 
While new emojis are added on an annual basis, the sport of lacrosse always seems to be forgotten. However, an important step was taken last week that could potentially resolve this issue and give lacrosse fans around the world the emoji that they desire.
 
A group of lacrosse administrators, including individuals from US Lacrosse and the Tewaaraton Foundation, submitted an official proposal for a "lacrosse stick and ball emoji" to the Unicode Consortium, the non-profit organization devoted to standardizing text and emojis across operating systems.
 
The story that has garnered quite a bit of traction on social media, with people voicing their support by using #laxemoji and #lacrosseemoji. It has also been written about by Inside Lacrosse and the Baltimore Sun.
 
We feel strongly that Canada's national summer sport deserves its very own emoji and need your help to convince the decision makers that they should support this proposal.
