General Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Coordinator’s responsibilities include organizing and supporting in season programs and events.
 
Skills and Qualifications
  • Project management experience is required (Minimum 1-3 years experience) and strong computer literacy skills is mandatory
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to develop multiple project plans and execute on time and on budget
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent communication (written, verbal & presentation skills), time
  • management, and problem solving
  • Experience in working with volunteers and professionals
  • Knowledge of Lacrosse, and Lacrosse NS is required
 
Duties and Responsibilities

The Coordinator has the following responsibilities:
  • Plans and delivers activities and projects to grow the membership of Lacrosse Nova Scotia
  • Updates website information and posts to social media platforms on behalf of Lacrosse Nova Scotia
  • Researches new funding opportunities, sponsorship and special event opportunities and presents them to the Executive Director
  • Assists in the coordination of special technical events including coaching symposiums, training camps, awards banquets, etc.
  • Acts as or consults with tournament convenors to ensure all guidelines and requirements are met for all Lacrosse Nova Scotia sanctioned events
  • Works with the Executive Director to ensure that programs under the Coordinators supervision meet budgetary outlines & expectations
  • Assists in the recruitment of volunteers for all programs and events
  • And further duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.
This position requires a responsible, energetic individual capable of working as part of a team. Extensive
Weekend and Evening work and local travel (access to reliable transportation on an as needed basis) within Nova Scotia will be required with time taken off during the week.
 
The salary for this position is $11.00 per hour for 35 hours per week. Term: May 29, 2017 for 8 weeks.
