Job Description

Lacrosse New Brunswick is the Provincial Sport Governing body whose purpose is to initiate, regulate, manage and communicate programs, services and events that promote participation and excellence in lacrosse across the Province of New Brunswick. We are currently seeking a part-time Executive Director.

This position will report to the Board of Directors via the President of Lacrosse New Brunswick.

Key Responsibilities (may include but not limited to):

  • Responsible for the day to day operations of Lacrosse NB
  • Responsible for implementation of Lacrosse NB’s policies relative to the day to day operations
  • Accountable for identifying and preparing funding applications and grants
  • Assist in the development of and be responsible for the implementation of the operating plan and ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain budgets for initiatives within the operating plan.
  • Work with the Board, Member Associations and/or Technical Director on plans for Player Development (Minor Level through to High Performance), Coaching Development, Official Development, and High Performance Programs, and assist in implementation and management of programs under these plans.
  • Assist in the generation of new sponsorship on a continuous basis for our organization
  • Provide leadership to all members of Lacrosse NB and its staff.
 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Sport and Recreation Studies and Sport Management would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of the sport of lacrosse would be a significant asset.
  • Experience with a non-profit sport sector and volunteer community is an asset.
  • Skills in program design, implementation and management.
  • Ability to maintain basic financial records
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle matters of a confidential and sensitive nature.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated experiences in policy development and continuous quality improvement activities and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain solid internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring people together towards a common goal.
  • Bilingualism or willingness to work toward would be an asset.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible work hours
 
Position Type: Part-time
Location:  New Brunswick (in one of either the greater Fredericton, Moncton or Saint John areas)
Salary: to be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and agreed time commitment.
