Our Midget “Flight” Program stands for Fitness Literacy & Individualized Group High-Performance Training.  Beginning with weight room safety, etiquette and familiarity, this off-season lacrosse-specific strength and conditioning program aims to progress 15 - 17 year olds to exercise independence.

ELIGIBILITY

Athletes that are eligible for the Flight program are;

1) Athletes going into their first year of midget in 2019 -15 years old.
2) Athletes that will remain in midget for the 2019 season-16 years old.
3) Athletes that are going into their first year of Intermediate (Junior)-17 years old.
4) Athletes that are going into their second year of Intermediate/Junior - 18 years old.

Running concurrent with on-floor lacrosse IQ sessions, this off-season training is one half of the Annual Training Plan for our Midget players.  Based on current evidence-based research and the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) and LTAD (Long Term Athletic Development) models, the athletes we are targeting are entering the Train to Compete stage of development, which also promotes sports specialization.

* What is FMS? – Functional Movement Screening documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness.
