2023 Team NS Box Head Coaches

Lacrosse Nova Scotia is excited to announce our Team NS head coaches for our box lacrosse provincial teams who will participate in Lacrosse Canada National Championships this summer. READ MORE for more information.

U15 Female – Ryan Evong – Ryan coached the 2022 U15 female team at the nationals, and will lead the team again in 2023. Ryan also coached the Jr A female Sackville Wolves, and is a key contributor in the development of the N.S. Sirens program.
 
U17 Female – Sean Carrigan – Sean is the LNS VP of high performance, and was the head coach of the first female Canada Games team, in 2022. He will lead as the head coach of the U17 Female team this year, using the depth of his coaching experience and lacrosse knowledge.
 
U22 Female – Drew Batchilder – Drew coaches the Jr A female Eastern Shore Breakers and will lead our U22 Team NS, as the Jr female division returns to nationals for the first time in years. She has attended nationals multiple times as a player, and will now return to nationals as a coach. Drew has been an important part in the development of the female game with St. Margaret’s Bay Storm, and contributes as a coach and official to our game here in N.S.
 
U13 Male – Gregg Nussey – Gregg has experienced nationals both as a player and as an assistant coach. In 2023, he steps up to be the head coach of our U13 Male team. Gregg has committed to growing the game in his local community with the Eastern Shore Breakers. His experience, commitment and knowledge make him an ideal candidate to lead our program.
 
U15 Male – Nick Mulligan - Nick has an extensive coaching background, coming to N.S. after coaching N.B. at the Founders’ Cup (Jr B nationals). He has been to nationals with both the LNS U13 boys and the U17 girls. Nick captained the Halifax Hustle in 2022 as he lead the team to the 2022 Finck Cup championship.
 
U17 Male – Dalton Brown – Dalton had been to nationals an impressive nine combined times, as a player and coach, and also coached at the2022 Canada Games He comes from a big lacrosse family, with two brothers and a mother who are all active lacrosse players. He is highly qualified, experienced and passionate.
 
U22 Male – Stephan Leblanc – Steph is a 12-year National Lacrosse league veteran, NLL champion and NLL rookie of the year with the Toronto Rock. Along with NLL success, Steph played for Team Canada at the World Indoor Championships, winning gold in 2011 and 2015. Since retiring from the NLL, Steph has coached the Jr A St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels. We are extremely excited to have him lead our U22 Males at the 2023 Founders’ Cup.
