Position Summary: The Offensive Coordinator for Provincial Field Lacrosse is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in recruiting, training, and coaching members of the Provincial Lacrosse Team.

The Assistant Coach of Provincial Field Lacrosse is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Lacrosse Nova Scotia Society (LNSS) outlined in the provincial handbook and Canadian Lacrosse Association(CLA).

This is a volunteer position, supports for expenses to Nationals in Edmonton will be provided. Six-month position.

Time Commitment (April – September)
• 3 Tryouts (each 4 hours in length)
• 3 Practices (each 5 hours in length, Sunday’s)
• 3 Exh games (July/Aug)
• Canadian National Championships (Aug 30 – Sept 1) in Edmonton

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist with recruitment of eligible players, including scouting prospective games/events, phone calls, and letters to both coaches and players.
• Maintain knowledge of offensive coaching strategies.
• Assist with pre/post workouts
• Develop the methods of achieving provincial team offense within the offensive strategy of the team
• Development of video/tape to assist players in the development offensive system and potential future match ups.
• Record statistics for each game, and.
• Represent Nova Scotia Lacrosse and the Provincial program in a professional manner.

Secondary Responsibilities:
• Assist in fundraising efforts for the Nova Scotia Provincial Field Team Education/Experience:
• Applicant must be ‘in training’ for Competitive Coaching (field) or willing to obtain by nationals.
• A strong commitment to the Youth-Athlete concept and a working knowledge of LNSS rules and regulations is required.
• Playing experience is an asset.
• One to two years field lacrosse coaching experience including effective leadership, communication and coaching skills is preferred.

Organizational Relationships
The Offensive Coordinator will report directly to the Head Coach and is a member of Lacrosse Nova Scotia Society.
