Lacrosse Nova Scotia sends largest contingent to National Championships
 
(Halifax, NS)  With a total of nine teams set to compete at Nationals this summer, Team Nova Scotia lacrosse will set a new record for participation.  The competitions kick off this week in Whitby, Ontario and Coquitlam/ New Westminster, British Columbia for girls and boys box lacrosse national championships.
 
Team NS girls will be playing in Bantam, Midget and Junior divisions in Ontario, while the boys will play in Peewee, Bantam‎ and Midget divisions in BC.
 
Later this summer, Halifax and Team NS will host the Founders' Cup‎, emblematic of Canadian Men's Junior B lacrosse supremacy, at the historic Halifax Forum.  On the Labour Day weekend, Nova Scotia will be represented in Men's Field Lacrosse at U16 and U19 levels in Alberta.
 
‎Lacrosse Nova Scotia President, Mike Hayes commented, "We have been working hard the past few years to increase our presence and standing at the Canadian National Lacrosse Championships..  This year’s large contingent is a testament to the hard work of our staff, coaches and many volunteers. ‎ I'm so pleased to see so many of our top athletes heading to Nationals, so they can experience the high level of competition, the unique spirit of our sport, and help grow the game back home in Nova Scotia”.
