Try Lacrosse

Lacrosse is the oldest game in North America, played by indigenous people for over 1000 years. Lacrosse is now the fastest-growing sport in North America and Canada's National Summer Sport. Lacrosse Nova Scotia is happy to offer opportunities to share the sport with our community through Try Lacrosse and School Lacrosse Programs.

Try Lacrosse

Lacrosse Nova Scotia and local lacrosse associations are excited to provide FREE ‘Try Lacrosse’ sessions in your area! Try Lacrosse events aim to introduce Canada’s National Summer sport to potential new players and parents in a fun and positive atmosphere.

Try Lacrosse sessions, lasting 60 to 90 minutes, are conducted in gyms and rinks throughout the province and led by certified coaches. Lacrosse sticks are provided; participants are asked to bring a hockey helmet, as there is a limited number of helmets provided. Participants are encouraged to dress in comfortable attire, including suitable running shoes, and to bring plenty of energy and enthusiasm.

In a Try Lacrosse session, players are introduced to key skills including loose ball control (scooping), catching, and throwing. Known as the fastest game on two feet, lacrosse draws parallels to basketball, soccer, and hockey. Discover the excitement of this dynamic sport - the most fun game in Nova Scotia!
